Gotham Brokerage Earns Highest BBB Rating

Manhattan insurance company has no current complaints on file

2010 passed quietly but Gotham Brokerage Co., Inc., had reason to celebrate. November marked our 15th anniversary as a Manhattan company accredited by the Better Business Bureau.

We have an A+ rating from the BBB and take our participation in the consumer agency’s review program seriously. BBB accredited businesses pay a few for review and monitoring and to support the BBB’s services to the public. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation.

The BBB rates participating companies on a scale from A+ to F; several factors contribute to Gotham Brokerage’s high grade. We’ve had no consumer complaints in the current three-year reporting period. Among other factors, the BBB considers how long a company has been in business and whether it has enough background information to effectively evaluate a company. The agency uses a proprietary formula to arrive at its ratings.

Gotham has the BBB’s highest rating. “The grade represents BBB’s degree of confidence that the business is operating in a trustworthy manner and will make a good faith effort to resolve any customer concerns filed with BBB,” according to the agency.

When looking for renters insurance, auto insurance, co-op insurance or condo policies in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and the suburbs, checking whether an insurance brokerage has elected to take part in the Better Business Bureau’s accreditation program is a good first step. Searching out consumer reviews is another wise move. Gotham Brokerage, you’ll find, does well on both counts.

We’ve been a BBB accredited business since November 1995 and are proud of our strong record with this important consumer agency. Check out our full report for yourself. We think you’ll be impressed.
